Pareto Optimization of Cycle Time and Motion Accuracy in Trajectory Planning for Industrial Feed Drive Systems

Manufacturing industries aim to improve product quantity and quality. These trade-off objectives are typically manifested as cycle time reduction motion accuracy improvement. Corner smoothing approaches that reduce the of piecewise linear trajectories proposed in literature. This study tackles two by Pareto-optimal corner with constraints imposed kinematic limits, continuity conditions user-specified cornering tolerance. Linear motions along a contour respectively described jerk-limited acceleration profiles modified interrupted (KCSIA) approach. A Pareto frontier is generated divide conquer algorithm, where solution nearest utopia point selected best solution. The effectiveness method validated through experiments, reduces maximum average contouring errors 47.53% 25.40% while it increases 2.53% compared KCSIA.
